Committees

The Council of the Town of Beaumont approves appointments to the Boards and Committees listed below. Advertising is done both annually for expiring term positions, as well as any vacancies which may occur throughout the year.

Beaumont Municipal Library Board

This Board consists of eight members - six members of the public, who are appointed to three-year terms; and two members of Council, who are appointed for a one-year term. The Board has full management and control of the Municipal Library, and will promote and maintain library services for the municipality. View the Beaumont Municipal Library Website by clicking here.

Subdivision, Development Appeal Board

This Board consists of seven members – three members of the public, plus an alternate member, appointed to three-year terms; and two members of Council, plus an alternate member, appointed to one-year terms. The Board is responsible for hearing appeals against decisions made by the subdivision or development authority, or their designate, while adhering to appropriate legislation.

Regional Assessment Review Board

The Town of Beaumont, along with Leduc County, Village of Breton, Village of New Sarepta, Village of Thorsby, and Village of Warburg, make up the Regional Assessment Review Board, The Board currently consists of five members and three alternate members, with a mix of both public and Council members. The Board hears complaints, both residential and non-residential, and exercises the functions of the Local Assessment Review Board, as well as the Composite Assessment Review Board, under provisions of the Municipal Government Act.

Promotions Committee

This Committee consists of 13 members – 10 public members, appointed to three-year terms; and 3 Council members, appointed to a one-year term. The Promotions Committee is an active Committee that works throughout the year to coordinate and promote community activities.
