Beaumont, AB – Citizens of Beaumont will go to the polls on Monday, February 5, 2018 for the by-election to fill the vacant council position.
“The polls will be open at the Beaumont Community Centre for extended hours, from 8 am to 8 pm on by-election day,” says Chelaine Winter, Returning Officer for Beaumont. “In addition, there will be advance polls for citizens who wish to vote prior to by-election day, as well as special mail-in ballots for those who cannot attend on by-election day.”
Advance polls are scheduled to take place in Council Chambers at the Town Office, from 10 am to 4 pm on two dates:
Those who wish to vote by special mail-in ballot should contact the Town Office to request the special ballot, and then follow the instructions.
Nomination day will be held four weeks prior to the by-election on Monday, January 8, 2018 between the hours of 8:30 am and 12 pm. On that day, candidates or their representatives must attend at the Town Office to officially register to run in the election.
