Budget Process

Do you have project ideas that could positively impact our community in the future? We want to know about them!

Call for Resident Input


Each year, the budget process begins with a call to residents to provide project or service ideas that they would like to be considered in coming years. The submissions are prioritized based on the 6 key focus areas identified in Beaumont's Strategic Plan:

  • Communication/Citizen Engagement
  • Community Identity
  • Economic Development
  • Fiscal and Asset Management
  • People Services
  • Smart Growth

Here's how it works:


  • Residents are asked to submit budget ideas by email or using the online survey - June 2017
  • The Governance and Priorities Committee reviews the submissions - July 2017
  • The information is put forward to Council for consideration in the 2017-2022 Strategic Plan

Ideas are integrated into the 2018 budget process:


  • Budget workshops - November
  • Budget presentation to Council - November
  • Budget open houses - December
  • Budget adopted by Council - December
